In October 1969, the agency was incorporated as Brummel Madsen Insurance with Joe Brummel and Bill Madsen as Corporate Officers.
Steve Schomaker joined the firm in 1971, Scott Cessna joined the firm in 1978 and Brian Brummel joined the firm in 1991.
During the early years of the Agency, business was confined to Cedar Falls and Northeast Iowa. The business usually consisted of personal lines and small commercial. Since that time the agency has had tremendous growth in personnel, insurance offerings, customer services, company representation and areas of representation. Brummel Madsen Insurance now represents over 50 insurance companies and is licensed to do business in over 38 states.
