Our History
Brummel Madsen traces its beginnings back to October of 1960 when Joe Brummel and Bill Madsen incorporated the agency. Since that time, we’ve added several key team members who bring valuable insights to our customers to help them find the right insurance services for their personal life or their business. Steve Schomaker joined the firm in 1971, followed by Scott Cessna in 1978 and Brian Brummel in 1991.
The owners that make up our current leadership team bring decades of experience to our customers.
Over the years, we’ve grown to be able to provide services for clients across the country. When Brummel Madsen first began, our work was limited to working with clients in Cedar Falls and Northeast Iowa by providing personal insurance and policies for small businesses. Now, we offer a much larger catalog of insurance products from over 25 insurance companies and we are licensed to do business in all states.
While we may have a larger presence than when we first opened our doors in 1960, our approach to giving you the best possible services and always being available when you need us hasn’t changed. We still bring the same attitude to customer service, an attitude that puts your needs first and will help build a long lasting relationship of trust.
